WHAT ARE AUDIO MINUTES AND AUDIO HOURS?
1 minute of audio = 1 audio minute; 1 hour of audio = 1 audio hour.
You’re billed by the length of your files (audio minutes/hours)–not by how long it takes to complete your transcript.
WHAT IS A CLEANED UP TRANSCRIPT?
A cleaned up transcript is one that has removed all of the little extraneous things we say in every day speech, along with stutters and sentence restarts. You know all of those, “uhs,” “umms,” “mms,” etc? that we all use as fillers, especially when nervous or thinking on our feet? A cleaned up transcript removes all of those, making it easier to read.
WHAT IS A VERBATIM/STRICT VERBATIM TRANSCRIPT?
A verbatim/strict verbatim transcript does include stutters, sentence restarts, and all of those little, “ums” and “uhs” that a cleaned up transcript removes.
WHAT KINDS OF AUDIO FORMATS DO YOU ACCEPT?
I accept virtually all digital audio and video formats. If you have a question about your audio/video format, feel free to reach out to me and ask prior to submitting it.
WHY DO YOU CHARGE MORE FOR TIME CODES?
Simply put, adding time codes not only takes more time, but also requires special software and extra training.
HOW DO I SUBMIT MY AUDIO FILES?
The easiest way to submit audio files is to use the submission form on the submit a request page and provide as many details as possible about your project, such as:
- Name & contact info
- Type of file(s) (audio or video)
- Length of file(s)
- Number of speakers
- Expected turnaround time/deadline
- Brief description of content/subject matter
I’ll respond with an email with a price quote and any followup questions. If we reach an agreement I’ll then email you a contract for you to sign. Once I’ve received the signed contract I’ll start work on your project.
WHAT FORMAT WILL MY TRANSCRIPT BE DELIVERED IN?
Transcripts are generally delivered via Word document.
I HAVE A PREFERRED FORMAT. CAN YOU USE MY TEMPLATE INSTEAD?
Absolutely! If you have a custom template or letterhead you prefer, please let me know when you submit your request.
HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY COMPLETED TRANSCRIPT?
Once your transcript has been completed I’ll simply send it to you via email or share it via a link in the cloud–whichever method you prefer.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
Invoices are sent through XXXXXX, which allows clients to pay via XXXXX.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS OF OPERATION?
Generally speaking, my hours of operation are standard business hours. That being said, I’m available 24/7 for rush/emergency jobs as necessary.
