“What can transcription services do for me or my business?” The better questions to ask yourself are, “Why shouldn’t I use transcription services,” and, “How can they help me the most?”
Make meetings easier
How many meetings have you recorded between yourself and current or potential clients, adversaries, or business partners? How many times have you wondered about something that might have been said 51 minutes into a 2 hour meeting? Did you spend the next 51 minutes of your valuable workday listening to the audio of that meeting? If the audio had been transcribed, you could have quickly searched the document and saved almost an hour of your day. Transcription can make you and your employees more productive.
help people find your business
Someone else is reading this and saying to themselves, “I don’t need transcription services. All of my content is on YouTube or podcasts.” Transcription services can benefit the YouTuber or podcaster looking for subscribers more than just about anyone. Google doesn’t search video or audio content. This means that without a transcript of your media your SEO rankings suffer. Obviously, if your SEO rankings suffer, you don’t get as many subscribers. If you post a transcription of your audio with your podcast or video, it gives Google some text to search. It also assists with accessibility, but I’ll discuss that more in a later post.
